About me:
Chelsey Michelle Lake has appeared in over several theatre productions. You may have seen her in 9 to 5 (Judy Bernly), Legally Blonde (Stentographer/Brooke u.s), The Revolutionist (Marianne Angelle) and Urinetown (Ensemble/ Josephine Strong), to name just a few. Chelsey’s ability to bring an uplifting/positive energy to any space she’s in and has been recognized by her professors, students as well as friends. Her positive attitude/outlook has been noted on rehearsals and during the show as well. Chelsey studied Musical Theatre and American Sign at University of Central Florida, graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts and hopefully her certificate to be an interpreter.Chelsey began ASL when she was four to five years old, helping her to learn to speak because she was born with learning disabilities. Her passion is to merge theatre and sign language because she firmly believes that everyone needs to not only be represented but also have an option for everyone to experience art. Chelsey Had an experience when she performed The Revolutionist, her college had interpreters come in for the first time and the seats were filled! This was the eye-opening moment for her to see that everyone in some capacity needs art or a creative outlet. Born and raised in Fort Lauderdale, Florida but both of her parents are from the Islands, Chelsey now lives in Orlando, Florida.
